The Israeli army has again given evacuation orders to the southern parts of the Gaza Strip. The orders apply to parts of the Rafah and Khan Yunis areas.

Earlier, the army said that 20 rockets had been fired at Israel from the Khan Yunis area. The attack was claimed by the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad.

Before this, Israel had carried out airstrikes on Rafah.

Hundreds of thousands have already fled Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah since Israel began its ground offensive in the south in early May.

Secretary General of the UN Antonio Guterres according to the spokesman, the evacuation order “shows once again that there are no safe places in Gaza”. He insists that Israel should do more to protect civilians.

– This is yet another stage in the deadly cycle of movement that the population of Gaza regularly finds themselves in, the spokesman Stephane Dujarric says.

The Israeli army began its ground operation in Gaza in late October, advancing from north to south. Heavy fighting in the north has started again after Israel concentrated its forces in the south.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, more than 37,900 Palestinians have already died as a result of Israel’s military operations.
