Despite his young age, eight-year-old Ismar Zuko has already managed to gather an impressive collection of Växjö lakers’ hockey sticks – a total of 19 hang on his wall.
An important mallet is missing from the collection, but that may soon change.
In After five, he receives a video greeting from his idol.
Eight-year-old Ismar Zuko is one of Växjö laker’s biggest fans and he collects the team’s hockey sticks, which Smålandsposten reported on.
He attends many of the team’s matches, and then takes the opportunity to try to expand the collection.
– I usually ask players and they usually say no and yes, he says in Efter fems Sverigesvepet.
He has collected a total of 19 clubs. But there is a Växjö lakers stick missing from the wall. The new player Noah Östlund is one of his biggest role models, but he hasn’t got hold of his club yet.
– He is talented and fights a lot.
The idol’s nice greeting
In After five, Ismar is surprised with a video greeting from the idol. And Noah Östlund brings gratifying news:
– I have heard that you are a big fan of the Växjö lakers and collect hockey sticks. I hope to see you on Saturday when we meet Malmö. Then you will get a signed stick from me. See you!
When Ismar sees the video greeting, he jumps for joy:
– I am very happy!
Even the mother Alemka Zuko is delighted by the surprise:
– There will be 20 clubs on Saturday. You are very happy for him. He thinks this is great fun. And the hockey players are really good role models for the boys in town.
