Islamic associations call for behavioral change

In Burkina Faso, after a meeting with more than 700 imams and preachers from all over the country, the Federation of Islamic Associations promote the appeasement of hearts. In its statement, the Federation of Islamic Associations accuses the Bukinabè of holding hateful, vehement and violent speeches, particularly in the media and on social networks.

According to this federation, populations develop “ suicidal recklessness by also spreading messages that incite religious and ethnic intolerance which can be sources of extreme violent clashes, or ethnic and community stigmatization “.

We thus deconstruct our social cohesion, our living together », Underlines El Haj Moussa Koanda, the current president of the Federation of Islamic Associations.

To reverse the trend, Muslim leaders are instructing all imams and preachers to work to facilitate the appeasement of hearts, to promote national reconciliation and the restoration of social cohesion.

They also ask them to stimulate the general mobilization for the only combat which is worth today: to recover the entire territory of Burkina Faso.

The Federation of Islamic Associations reaffirms its firm commitment and its unconditional support for all initiatives aimed at mending the social fabric, promoting reconciliation and the restoration of the national territory.
