ISIS leader killed in an attack by Turkish forces says

Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi became the leader of the jihadist organization at the end of last year, when Isis said that the previous leader of the organization had died in the southern parts of Syria.

Turkish forces have killed the leader of Isis Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashin In Syria, says the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in an interview with the Turkish TRT channel.

According to Erdoğan, al-Qurashi died on Saturday during a Turkish intelligence service operation in Syria.

The Turkish intelligence service had been following the Isis leader for a long time, Erdoğan said in the interview.

Al-Qurashi became the leader of the jihadist organization at the end of last year, after Isis said he had previously led the organization Abu Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qurashin died in the southern parts of Syria.

According to Reuters and AFP sources, the operation took place in the town of Jindires in northern Syria near the Turkish border.

Isis took over large areas of Syria and Iraq in the middle of the last decade. The regime lost the last territories it controlled in Syria by the end of the decade. The remaining ISIS jihadists have since been hiding in remote areas of Iraq and Syria.

The US military said at the beginning of April that it carried out an attack in Syria, in which the person responsible for planning ISIS attacks in Europe was killed Khalid Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri.
