Creation is everything to me, creation takes up a lot of space in my life
Isaac Joachim Pantaléon, creator of men’s clothes and founder of Zacometi
“From my nickname Zac or Zaco and meti, I found this Italian-sounding suffix, but it’s not Italian. It’s something I concocted, in my own way, in my own way.”
Born in Haiti, where his mother has a sewing workshop, the story of Isaac Joachim Pantaléon begins there. When she arrived in France at the age of five, her mother continued to work in sewing. Raised surrounded by fabrics and sewing machines, the transmission was done in a natural way. Isaac dreams, however, of being a footballer, but he pays particular attention to his outfits and likes to dress up. He was commercial for a time and then in 2002, with friends, he launched a clothing line. After this acting out, he resumed his studies, in fashion design and training with a master tailor.
An esthete tailor of the present time
The artistic base of Zacometi was born in 2006. Since then, Isaac Joachim Pantaleón has been creating clothes for the men of our time.
“Today, I’m more into neo-dandyism, without the top hat without the cane. But this androgynous, very elegant man who has a rather particular gait, that has always shaped me. Yes, I wanted to get dressed, first. There is this ego side that I appreciate in dandies and while getting dressed, while walking, I saw that there were certain looks and compliments from people, friends. At that time, I wanted to do something else, to bring something to the men’s wardrobe, so I put the ego side back to be able to create for the other. I wanted by my small means, by my small ideas, to bring something to the men’s locker room “entrusts Isaac Joachim Pantaleon.
Highlight dormant stocks
Isaac Joachim Pantaléon is aware of eco-responsibility. Her creations are made from dormant coupons from haute couture houses.
“It can be three or ten meters of fabric. I use scraps, coupons, to make a jacket. The jacket will be unique, that’s what I do most often in my creations. It can be two or three pieces or even one piece, so they are ‘remains’ of the great haute couture houses, which are destined to be destroyed. Me, I collect them or I buy them to be able to make my creations. The big houses have a lot of resources to do research on the raw materials, on the quality of the raw material and since it comes from the big houses, automatically, these are high quality materials. Besides, I use the same cutting techniques as the big houses. We do the same sewing schools. Apart from my details which are different. Afterwards, it’s a question of the name and the marketing behind it”concludes the creator of Zacometi.
