The rioters are indeed young, many people in the area say. “The youngest was 8 years old or so, until about 15 or 16,” says a gentleman on the street. According to local residents, it mainly concerns young people from outside the neighborhood who are tempted, mainly via Snapchat, to come to Overvecht to make noise. The police arrest four young people, two of them are minors. “They do not accept that the police are actually above them, they do not appreciate that,” says the man on the bicycle, looking for an explanation for the behavior of the very young rioters.
