BLACK PANTHER WAKANDA FOREVER. New Marvel movie in theaters since November 9, does Black Panther 2 offer one or more post-credits scenes? We’ll let you know so you don’t have to wait until the end of the session.
[Mis à jour le 9 novembre 2022 à 11h00] This is a question that has become systematic about superhero movies: is there a post-credits scene at the end of the movie? Usually, the answer is just as systematic but Black Panther Wakanda Forever allows itself to surprise on this subject. Indeed, Ryan Coogler’s feature film only includes a mid-credit scene and not a scene at the end of the credits where, traditionally, the films Marvel offer both. So there is no need to wait for the very end of the credits of Black Panther 2 because there is only one scene in the middle of the credits. The film’s producer Nate Moore explained his choice not to include a post-credits scene at the end of the film. “I believe the subject matter of the film is such that it wouldn’t have been appropriate to have a funny scene at the end. Just like Avengers Endgame felt like an emotional experience that didn’t need that at the end. We wanted to tell this story as it was conceived without added bonus. That’s why there is unfortunately no post-credits scene. Rest assured, however, there is a very pretty scene in the middle of the credits.
The release of Black Panther 2 in France was only confirmed in mid-October against the backdrop of a fierce struggle to move the media timeline. For several weeks, Disney tried to bend the French CNC over the media chronology and threatened not to release its blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever if progress was not made in its direction. Anyway, the decision has been made by Disney and Marvel Studios to release the Black Panther sequel directed by Ryan Coogler in French theaters. The film therefore arrived with us on November 9, 2022.
A new trailer for Black Panther 2 subtitled “Wakanda Forever” was released in the United States on October 3, 2022. The opportunity for fans to discover a little more about what awaits them in this realized sequel by Ryan Coogler. Wakanda seems to be on edge in the global geopolitical game, as Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) says “We know what you’re whispering: they’ve lost their protector. The time has come to attack.” And obviously, the kingdom of Wakanda, which must face the death of King T’Challa, will have to fight against a major enemy in the person of Namor (Tenoch Huerta), king of the underwater nation of Talokan who seems violently attack the Wakandans in this trailer.
As these images show, the question of the succession of King T’Challa arises but also that of the succession of Black Panther, the protector of Wakanda. The new film from Marvel Studios must indeed deal with the death, unfortunately very real, of actor Chadwick Boseman from cancer on August 28, 2020. For the time being, the trailers for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever do not give only a few clues as to the identity of his replacement. It’s about a woman as we can see at the end of this new trailer. This still brings a little water to the mill of the rumor that it is Shuri (Letitia Wright) who takes up the torch in this sequel.
Synopsis – After the death of King T’Challa, the Wakandan heroes must fight against the interventions of other world powers. As Wakanda tries to open a new chapter, its heroes must come together to forge this new path for the kingdom.
Black Panther was released in cinemas in 2018. It will therefore have been necessary to wait four years before discovering a sequel. It must be said that the death of Chadwick Boseman, on August 28, 2020 from colon cancer, not only shocked his fans, but also put an inevitable brake on the production of the film. In the United States, Black Panther 2 is announced for a release on November 11, 2022. In France, the theatrical release of the film was not confirmed until mid-October. Black Panther Wakanda Forever was released in France on November 9, 2022.
News of Chadwick Boseman’s death on August 28, 2020 shocked the world. The interpreter of Black Panther suffered from colon cancer, which he had hidden from everyone, except his family. He died at age 43. If the news caused grief and amazement, a question inevitably came to mind: how to continue the Black Panther franchise in the cinema without its main actor? The trailer, posted online at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022, does not answer this question. The mystery still hangs over the estate of Chadwick Boseman.
One of the solutions, acclaimed by many Black Panther fans, would be for Shuri, Black Panther’s sister played by Letitia Wright in the first part, to take over from her brother and become the new heroine and queen of Wakanda. This option has the merit of being based on comics and would pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman. According to We got this covered, this idea would indeed be in the minds of Disney and Marvel. But actress Letitia Wright’s anti-vax remarks during the production of the feature film have cast discredit on the actress, and could have consequences for the film. Note that the second trailer for Black Panther 2 reveals that a woman takes over the costume of the Wakandan hero in the sequel, although we do not yet really know who is under the mask. This is consistent with the rumor that Letitia Wright could take up the torch. Anyway, it will be impossible to forget the tragic loss of the first interpreter of Black Panther in the cinema.
Attention spoilers of Black Panther 2 in this paragraph. Ryan Coogler’s feature takes a moment before giving a final answer to the new incarnation of Black Panther in his film. And for good reason, a large part of this sequel is dedicated to the mourning of T’Challa, who died at the start of the film from an illness that his sister Shuri cannot cure with technology. After many adventures which lead her notably to the United States then to Talokan, the submerged city of Namor, Shuri ends up succeeding in synthesizing a heart-shaped leaf with the help of Riri Williams alias Iron Heart. Shuri ingests this leaf and, after a vision that brings her into contact with Killmonger, the antagonist from the previous film, she is given Black Panther’s superhuman powers. The rumors were therefore true, it is indeed Letitia Wright who takes over the Black Panther costume, as was the case for Shuri in certain Marvel comics.
