After a thorough renovation, the new discotheque is almost finished and ready to open. Disco boss Gaby van der Hengel (51) wants to remain positive despite all the noise. “We have arranged everything neatly, the permit is almost in place and then we will just open.” Van der Hengel understands very well that local residents and now also the director of hotel Figi are concerned about nuisance, because it is unavoidable. “There is always some nuisance in an entertainment area, but that has also been part of 2e Dorpsstraat for over fifty years.”
