The Golden State Warriors, who have won four NBA championships in the last eight seasons, have found themselves in a difficult situation in the opening round of the playoffs. The situation is not made easier by the suspension of the star player.
The Golden State Warriors, who have dominated the basketball NBA in recent years and are defending their championship, are in a tight spot in the opening round of the playoffs. It is in the match series against the Sacramento Kings with a loss with match wins 0–2.
The Kings narrowly won the opening game 126–123 and the second game 114–106. Four wins are required for the next place.
Golden State can easily be called a dynasty for the last few years. It celebrated the championship in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. It has been in the finals no less than six times in the last eight seasons.
This is a first time superstar player Stephen Curry’s, 35, in an era when State is 0–2 in a playoff series. The last time something similar happened in 2007.
The 3rd final game, which will be played in the Warriors’ home hall on the night between Thursday and Friday, Finnish time, can be a watershed for the series. The Warriors have lost the most away games this season, but as a home team they have been one of the best.
Curry had enough credit after the previous match.
– There’s an old saying: the series doesn’t start until one team beats the other at home. If we want to get to that situation, we have to focus on the three-match series at home, Curry said On the Warriors website (you will be transferred to another service).
One of the Warriors’ key players Klay Thompson trying to stay confident as well.
– I don’t feel pressure. I see an opportunity to defend our home field and make changes. We’ve experienced it all. We are not used to pressing the panic button.
Superstar on the sidelines
For Golden State, an additional challenge for the next match is that the star playera Draymond Green is on the sidelines due to a one-match suspension. Green saddled Sacramento Domantas Sabonis on the chest in the previous meeting between the teams.
The situation started when the fallen Sabonis grabbed Green’s leg.
– My leg was grabbed. It was the second time in two games. I had to get a foothold somewhere, Green explained.
The NBA justified the suspension partly by the fact that Green has been guilty of unsportsmanlike behavior in the past.
