European parliamentarians, gathered in Strasbourg, asked, Thursday, February 13, almost unanimity, the immediate suspension of an agreement signed in February 2024 with Rwanda. Strongly criticized by the Congolese, the agreement remains a point of tension between Kinshasa and the European institution, which, after the conclusion of the agreement, was accused of encouraging “the looting of Congolese natural resources by Rwanda”. Last week, the authorities of Kinshasa had indeed pleaded for his repeal. And the parliamentarians therefore proved them right.
