The smell of freshly roasted coffee beans. Anyone who lives in Utrecht-West is familiar with the aroma of the Douwe Egberts factory. You either love it or you don’t like it. The question this year was whether the smell is too annoying for planned new-build homes at the Thomas á Kempisplantsoen. The project was delayed in March because research was needed to determine whether the emissions are acceptable. The results are now known.
