The first two Avatar films grossed over $5 billion in cinemas. Now director James Cameron and his team are preparing the next chapter of the sci-fi saga: Avatar 3. It is the biggest cinema blockbuster the next few years. In this article we collect all updates about it.
When does Avatar 3 start in cinemas?
Avatar 3 launches on December 17, 2025 in German cinemas. This means the waiting time is significantly shorter than with The Way of Water. Instead of 13 agonizingly long years, we only have to wait three years until we can return to Pandora. And the best thing is: the schedule for the films afterwards has already been set.

The end of the Avatar saga is not yet set in stone. In an interview with People, Cameron revealed that he too Avatar 6 and Avatar 7 can imagine, even if he won’t stage it.
What is the title of Avatar 3?
The title of Avatar 3 has not been revealed yet. In November 2018, a list of possible titles for the Avatar sequels began making the rounds. This also included the correct title for the second part. In an interview with Comic Book, producer Jon Landau said: “I am authorized to tell you that [The Seed Bearer] is not the title of Avatar 3.”
What is the plot of Avatar 3?

However, in an interview with Temple of Geeks, the director stated that this version does not exist.
Now we can be curious to see how long Avatar 3 will take to the big screen in December 2025.
