If We’ll find out soon if there’s a sequel.
Is Netflix’s fantasy series Shadow and Bone getting a third season?
So far, Netflix no season 3 for Shadow and Bone ordered yet. As always, only if enough people switch on season 2 in the next month and (which is becoming increasingly important) watch it to the end, should we expect the message of an extension of the large-scale fantasy series. We could then expect the news in April at the earliest.

Shadow and Bone Season 2
After Season 1, it was said that Shadow and Bone was designed as a series for at least 3 seasons. Meanwhile, showrunner Eric Heisserer speaks of ideally 5 seasons. Although Season 2 largely ends Alina’s book trilogy *, Ravka’s story continues in, for example, the King of Scars * books. But that is not all.
It’s an open secret that Heisserer is an even bigger fan of the Crows* Grishaverse books. That’s why Kaz Brekker’s gang of thieves has already been introduced, but is still awaiting the film adaptation of their own novel adventure. Now he revealed: The 8 episodes of the spin-off series Six of Crows have long been secretly written. However, Netflix has yet to give the green light to it. That too depends on the success of Season 2. If all goes according to plan, the Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows series will run concurrently, have occasional cameos from crossover characters, and reunite at the end.

In the Season 2 finale, Shadow and Bone gives concrete clues as to how Season 3 (or the spin-off) will continue
Looking at the end of Season 2 Shadow and Bone Episode 8 unequivocally defines the main plot of Season 3 or the additional crow seriesat least for Grishaverse readers: The new Grisha drug Jurda Parem is in circulation and is already showing its devastating effect on Nikolai’s coronation with many deaths.
Because the worldwide spread of the drug would have fatal consequences, certain parties are willing to pay a lot of money. Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter) plans one with his crows impossible heist, which leads them to Fjerda’s “Ice Tribunal” witch hunter fortress. Bo Yul-Bayur is held captive there, the inventor of Jurda Parem and the only one who knows how the drug is made. But first the gang has to free Matthias from prison. – If you want to know how this heist ends before Season 3 of Shadow and Bone, you have to read the book Song of the Crows*.

Shadow and Bone: the (still incomplete) crows
In addition, the season 2 ending of Shadow and Bone in Front of the Looking Glass already teases Prince Nikolai’s shadow transformation. The “infection” of Ravka’s heir to the throne by Kirigan’s monster actually happens in the last book of Alina’s novel trilogy, but it also plays a major role in his own spin-off novel King of Scars. The Netflix series has unmistakably saved this narrative thread for season 3.
Alina’s now directing shadows after saving Mal with Merzost magic is very different from the book’s original (where she loses her powers as a Sun Warrior and/or passes them on to others). Whether Shadow and Bone will explore Alina’s dark side and power temptations in season 3remains a surprise for everyone after this twist.
Fantasy podcast on the Netflix series Wednesday: What Season 2 needs to do better
Wednesday is one of the most successful and popular series of recent years. A second season has already been confirmed by Netflix. Nevertheless, there is criticism – especially from the leading actress Jenna Ortega herself. The shooting of the series apparently took place under great time pressure. Hendrik Busch and Matthias Hopf discuss what needs to improve in season 2.
At this point you will find external content that complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
There are also shortcomings in terms of content: was the love triangle around Wednesday really appropriate? And does Wednesday even look like a series from master director Tim Burton Series?
