Netflix has landed the next feel-good hit. All episodes of the 1st season of Running Point have been streaming since Thursday. The touching and amusing sports comedy takes us into the rooms of the Los Angeles Waves, a basketball team that has been owned by a family for several generations.
At the beginning of the series it happens that Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) unexpectedly rises to the new director of the franchise after her brother Cam (Justin Theroux) had an accident under drug influence. So that he does not harm Los Angeles Waves, he decides to hand over the chief position to his sister.
Is Running Point Season 2 coming to Netflix?
Although Netflix sometimes ordered two seasons in one fell swoop, the streamer has the 2nd season of Running Point so far no green light is granted. Netflix probably wants to see how the series arrives first. However, the first figures are likely to convince: Running Point has entered the streaming charts in the USA.
Leading actress Huston has definitely confirmed her interests on a 2nd season of Running Point. Compared to Entertainment Tonight, she said:
I had so much fun. I just want to continue.
Co-creator Mindy Kaling said in the same interview that she already turned to Netflix boss Ted Sarandos and said the following:
We love to make the series. Can’t you just extend them for five more seasons? When does Running Point Season 2 start at Netflix?
If Netflix actually decides to order a 2nd season from Running Point, we should assume at least one year of waiting, if not longer. Since a few prominent names are involved with Kate Hudson, Justin Theroux and Co., there could be overlapping with other projects.
How continues Running Point in season 2?
Danger, spoiler: The end of season 1 specifies a clear direction for the continuation of the story. After Isla has managed to lead the Los Angeles Waves to some unexpected successes, she is faced with her greatest competitor. And no, this does not come from a different franchise.
The Cliffhanger is as follows: When Isla wants to go to her office, she has to find shocked that Cam took a seat again on the executive chair. Relaxed he puts his feet on the table and receives it with the words: “Hello, my sister heart. I’m back.” Again her own family gets in the way.
After Cam only appeared on the edge in season 1 over long distances, the last scene indicates that he will play a larger role in season 2. Isla may have tolerated her other (half) brothers, but the oldest of the Gordons has just unpacked the war of war and grinning back in the chair.
