Ready or Not has left early access status behind and has successfully launched on Steam with version 1.0. Players are now wondering when the tactical shooter will be released for consoles.
The first-person shooter Ready or Not is now available in version 1.0 on Steam. The gameplay is designed for co-op action, making it perfect for playing a few rounds with friends.
Unfortunately, console players on PlayStation and Xbox are left out in the cold. Ready or Not can currently only be played on PC via Steam. But there is reason to hope that a version for PS5 and other consoles will be developed in the future.
What about a PS5 release of Ready or Not?
Will Ready or Not be released for PS5 and Co? After around two years in the early access phase, the full version that has now been released has had a successful start on Steam. Now PS5 players also want to be able to enjoy the new co-op shooter as quickly as possible. They were hoping for an announcement for consoles at the same time as the Steam release.
However, there are currently no concrete plans from the developer VOID Interactive. Details about a release on the consoles from Sony and Microsoft have so far been searched in vain. There are also no statements about a planned release date. Fans on PlayStation and Xbox cannot jump into the game at this point.
At least in the FAQ on the VOID Interactive website, a console release is not ruled out. It says: “Ready or Not will be a PC title upon release. However, we are interested in releasing it on other platforms such as consoles in the future.” (via voidinteractive.net)
What speaks for a console release? In addition to the question of which platforms Ready or Not will be available on, there is also a comment about possible controller support.
The developers say: “The alpha will not have official controller support from the start, but we will try to integrate it during or shortly before the beta.” (via voidinteractive.net)
Unfortunately, this promise could not be kept. The feature didn’t make it into the game when version 1.0 was released either. A connected controller is currently not recognized by the game. However, clever players have found a way to integrate controller support into the game in a roundabout way.
To do this, they use a custom controller layout using Steam. By assigning keyboard input to different controller buttons, you trick the game into thinking it’s still using the mouse and keyboard. Everyone has to decide for themselves how well the shooter can be played this way.
Ready or Not was already popular in the beta, now has 50,000 players on Steam, is 91% positive
