Daniel Ståhl has found the form.
Now he promises even longer throws – but…
– It’s like ordering a pizza, he says to Radiosporten.
Daniel Ståhl has at times been superior in discus in recent years, and last summer he crowned his already fantastic career with an Olympic gold. This season, however, was initially not quite what he had hoped for, and just a few weeks ago he had not thrown over 70 meters.
In top form
It also led to him losing his place as world number one – and maybe that was exactly what made him turn on. For the first time, he responded with the first throw of the year over 70 meters during a competition in Finland – and the week after, he hit with even more information.
The throw during the team-SM in Uppsala measured a total of 71.47, which is the longest throw in the whole world this year. It was also Daniel Ståhl’s second longest throw in his career, with only weeks left until the World Cup, which begins on July 15 in the USA.
Dare the promise
And Daniel Ståhl himself now does not deny that it is an ascending form, ahead of the Bauhaus gala in Stockholm on Thursday.
– I have felt bad at the beginning of the season, but now I have gotten into it, and I have competed a lot. Now it feels better, I feel g, he says to Radiosporten.
And with the success of the last few weeks behind him, Daniel Ståhl feels that he can pull off a promised promise. He is stoning that there are even longer throws in the body, but when it does, it is difficult to promise anything about.
– I have longer throws in me, but when it comes it is not possible to answer. It’s like ordering a pizza, you do not know when it will come as well.
