Is Instagram opening? There was a hot development in the incident that millions of users are curious about. It was reported that BTK and Instagram officials will hold a meeting today. Minister Uraloğlu also explained his expectations about the meeting.
Minister Uraloğlu made the following statement on social media;
Last week, we had a meeting with the authorities of the social media platform Instagram, to which we had blocked access due to the policies it implemented within the scope of catalog crimes. In the meeting, our sensitivities regarding compliance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey were conveyed. We will meet with them again this afternoon. We hope that they will do what is necessary to meet our demands; we expect positive developments.

WHAT HAPPENED?
On July 31, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun shared a condolence message on the social media application Instagram regarding the death of İsmail Haniye, and then Instagram blocked access to this post. In response, Altun made a statement on the subject on his X account, saying, “I also strongly condemn the social media platform Instagram, which prevented people from posting condolence messages due to the martyrdom of Haniye without any justification. This is a very clear and obvious attempt at censorship.”
ACCESS DENIED ON AUGUST 2
Following this post by Communications Director Altun, BTK blocked access to Instagram on August 2. While it was learned that BTK made the decision to block access to Instagram from the site information query menu, no statement has yet been made as to how long the block will last.
