“Adolescence” is now entering Netflix. News24 works out everything you might want to know about the British crime drama.

Netflix has offered several success series in recent months, including several Swedish drama and crime productions such as the “helicopter robbery”, the “breakthrough” and “ÅRMorden”.

But now it’s time for a British crime drama, directed by Philip Barantinito take a seat in the streaming giant’s range – and the critics are, to say the least, positive about the new series “Adolescence”.

“The introductory part is the strongest, most tumultuous TV section of the year so far, a technical and dramaturgical masterpiece,” writes Elias Björkman in Svd.

“So far the strongest and most shocking television experience,” writes, writes Nicholas Wennö in DN.

At home in the UK describes The Guardians Lucy manganese “Adolescence” as “the closest one has come television perfection for several decades”.

“Adolescence” premieres on Netflix on March 13, 2025.

Adolescence action – is there a trailer?

“When a 13-year-old is accused of the murder of a schoolmate, his family, therapist and the responsible Police Commissioner are left with the same question: what really happened?”, Netflix writes about the action in “Adolescence”.

– We could have made a drama about gang and knife crime, or about a kid whose mother is an alcoholic or whose father is a perpetrator. Instead, we wanted you to look at this family and think: “My God, this could have happened to us!”. What happens is an ordinary family’s worst nightmare, says the creator of the series Stephen Grahamwho also plays one of the lead roles, to Netflix.

    Is adolescence based on real events?

    That question has Netflix Set to the aforementioned Stephen Graham, who then stated that the story of 13-year-old Jamie Miller is not based on a specific person or event, but that the idea for the script came out of the knife violence he saw in the British news reporting.

    – It was an incident where a young boy should have cut a girl. It shocked me and I thought, “What happens? What is happening in society when a boy knife -cuts a girl to death?

    – Then it happened again, and again and again. I just wanted to highlight it and ask: Why is this happening today? What is going on? How have we ended up here?
