Will GTA 6 reach 60 FPS on PS5 Pro? Digital Foundry notes that CPU issues could make that goal difficult.
Sony’s new PlayStation 5 Pro console has finally been introduced. However, this powerful console with a high price tag seems to appeal more to the enthusiast audience rather than the casual gamer. The biggest question is how GTA 6 will perform on this powerful console. So, GTA 6 60 FPS on PS5 Pro Will it remain a dream?
Will GTA 6 Run at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro?
In an interview with IGN, Digital Foundry’s tech editor Richard Leadbetter shared some important details about the PS5 Pro’s performance in Grand Theft Auto 6. “The PS5 Pro uses the same CPU as the PS5, and if the base PS5 version is targeting 30 FPS, it will be extremely difficult to reach 60 FPS,” he said. This statement suggests that GTA 6 will be a CPU-heavy build, just like its predecessors.
GTA games have always been known for their complex simulations and living worlds, which is one of the things that makes it particularly difficult to achieve high frame rates. “It’s not a GPU issue, it’s a CPU issue,” Leadbetter said, adding that the console simply won’t be able to handle it.
PS5 Pro, of course, aims to make games look better and run smoother. The console’s 8K support features are also remarkable, but whether GTA 6 can deliver this level of performance is still a big question mark. Rockstar Games always creates huge worlds full of realistic AI behavior and random encounters. It is certain that GTA 6 will meet this expectation, but it is still unclear whether a 60 FPS performance can be achieved.
