The watering ban in Ljungby municipality began on June 2 after a longer dry period at the beginning of the summer. Now a significantly wetter July has improved the water situation.
– What we can see is that there has been somewhat lower consumption now in the month of July, says Anna Andersson, deputy head of VA in Ljungby municipality.
However, there is still a ban on irrigation in the community of Bolmen.
– In Bolmen’s community we have a shortage of raw water, we are building a new well in the community to remedy this, so the ban still applies there, says Anna Andersson.
At the same time, there is still a ban on irrigation in several other places in the country. Among other things in Borgholm municipality and Emmaboda municipality. There, the irrigation ban applies provisionally until 30 August and 30 September respectively.
