– Right now we are consuming 25 percent more than we usually do. This is not sustainable in the long run, says Antti Vähäkare, VA manager at Värnamo municipality in a press release on the municipality’s website.
The watering ban means that water may be used for food, drink and personal hygiene, but not for watering with a sprinkler or hose. You may also not use high pressure washing or fill pools and hot tubs.
Several municipalities also urge residents to conserve water, although there is not yet a ban. This is the case in Sävsjö and Vetlanda, among others.
