Ironing tip – March 5 (5/3): Tips, suggestions & analysis

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Saturday means the Ironing Tip! We go through the coupon’s 13 matches, and give you our game suggestion. This in the form of a 96-line system.

It is a great tradition for many to play at Stryktipset every Saturday, and the undersigned also shares that tradition. Not much beats a ticket full of exciting matches, and this Saturday we’re treated to six matches from the Premier League and seven from the Championship.

We play a 96-row system, which means seven spikes, five half-guards and one full-guard. Check out the game suggestion below the picture. If you want to bet on individual matches, we recommend that you look over our list of betting sites, and then we can also advise you to check out risk-free games.

  • Our system: 1 full guard + 5 half guards
  • Number of rows: 96 (SEK)
  • Betting page: Swedish games
  • 1. Southampton – Leicester, 2

Two teams that are further down the table than they had imagined before the season. Southampton are last, and Leicester in 14th place. These two teams are the fewest in the entire Premier League – just three draws each. So we don’t expect a draw here, and when we have to pick a winner, we have a hard time settling on anything other than Leicester feeling clearly stronger after all. They have lost their last two PL matches, but they were against top teams and before that they showed good form. Singles two.

    2. Arsenal – Bournemouth, 1

Arsenal are winning game after game, and hope to win the Premier League for the first time in 19 years. Now they face AFC Bournemouth, who just lost against Arsenal’s title rival Manchester City 1-4 at home. We think Bournemouth will have a hard time here as well, and nail the home victory. If you want to read more about the match, you can check out our betting tip for Arsenal – Bournemouth.

    3. Chelsea – Leeds, 1X

Chelsea can’t seem to win at the moment. The team has six straight games without a win, and in the last loss they also had Thiago Silva injured. In these last six games, Chelsea have only managed to score a single goal. Now they at least face resistance in the form of Leeds, who are the series’ worst away team. Even if we think Chelsea will win, we dare not nail the 1, but guard with the cross. 1X, becomes our game.

    4. Aston Villa – Crystal Palace, X2

Aston Villa are coming off a 2-0 win against bottom team Everton, but had previously suffered three straight defeats. Crystal Palace have just drawn against Liverpool, and have actually cruised to five of their last six games. It must be said that they have had a really tough game schedule recently, and the team’s last seven games have only been against teams in the upper half. When you have to face a team here that is at least in 11th place, we believe that you will get points, and maybe even win. We play X2.

    5. Wolverhampton – Tottenham, 2

Tottenham have won two straight London derbies 2-0, against West Ham and Chelsea, but then went out against Sheffield United in the FA Cup. It is difficult to say exactly where you stand, but there is no doubt that the quality is there.

Wolves are on three straight without a win, and we think it will be a fourth here. We’re playing second fiddle. Read more about the match in our Wolves – Tottenham betting tip via the link.

    6. Brighton – West Ham, 1

Brighton have lost two consecutive points, against Crystal Palace and Fulham, and scored just one goal in total in those games. But they clearly had the margins against them and should have won with seven goals in terms of expected goals. Here we think it will drop, and that Brighton will win against 16th-placed West Ham. Straight one. You are welcome to read more about the match in our betting tip for Brighton – West Ham.

    7. Huddersfield – Coventry, 2

Huddersfield are in the relegation zone, and they are not doing much to get up from there. Of the team’s last nine games, they have only won one, and it is not made easier by the solid injury list they are dragged along with.

Coventry continue to show fine form, with ten points from their last four. The team’s Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres continues to be praised and linked with Premier League teams. Only five points up for a playoff spot now, and we think they win here to hopefully close the gap even further. 2nd in a row.

    8. Luton – Swansea, 1X

Sixth-placed Luton take on 15th-placed Swansea, in a game that means a lot to promotion-chasing Luton above all. Neither team has any notable shape curve, either positive or negative. However, Swansea have lost their two away games, and we find it hard to see the Welsh winning here. Cross-prone Luton is anything but a given spike though, and we hedge by playing 1X.

    9. Millwall – Norwich, 1X

Match between two teams challenging for playoff, Millwall in 5th place and Norwich in 7th place. Both teams are showing good form, and Millwall have not lost in eleven home games. Here we believe Millwall will again avoid defeat, but a draw is far from unthinkable. We play 1X.

    10. Rotherham – Queens Park Rangers, 2

Two teams who are fighting to avoid the relegation battle, but who still have fairly comfortable distances down to the red line. However, QPR are showing really bad form with four straight losses, and you have to be careful if you don’t want to be dragged into the fight for real.

Here we note that Svenska Spel’s favoritism lands at 33-29-38, but the Swedish people have played 39-27-32. It is rare that the people know more than the betting companies and here we see a clear gambling value on the right. We single QPR.

    11. Sunderland – Stoke, 1X2

Sunderland are hanging on for a playoff spot, while Stoke are reasonably comfortable with a nine-point gap to the relegation zone. However, Sunderland’s trend is downward. They started the season incredibly strong, but have been weaker lately. Two straight losses are the team’s current results.

Stoke are difficult to assess and are also better away than at home. Although the table says Sunderland are the better team, we feel it could go a little either way here. We save the day.

    12. Watford – Preston, 1

Two teams parked in the upper half of the Championship table, with Watford in 8th and close to a playoff spot while Preston are 12th and likely to have a rather quiet and insignificant end to the season. Here we believe that Watford, with Ken Sema at the helm, will take an important victory. Spiketta.

    13. Wigan – Birmingham

League table jumbo Wigan host Birmingham, who are seven points off the relegation zone. Matches of this type are Wigan’s chance to win, or at least take points, and despite being bottom they have still taken points in over half of their games (result line: 7-10-16). We think Wigan will get at least a draw, against a Birmingham side coming off four straight defeats. We play 1X.
