Irma Lehtosalo has become a national celebrity throughout Sweden thanks to the hit program Marko and Irma. There, viewers can follow along as the mother-and-son duo build a house for Irma. After the recovery, Irma has started to earn money that she previously could not dream of. When the show premiered in January 2023, most likely not many people knew who Irma was, apart from the fact that she was the artist’s mother Marko “Markoolio” Lehtosalo.

It is no longer Marko who is recognized in town, the spotlight is now directed at Irma. The program where the son helps Irma build a new house quickly became a big hit with viewers and the viewers opened their eyes to Irma.
The focus shifted from the beloved and iconic artist Markoolio, who has been fighting for his Instagram following for ten years. Irma today has 335,000 followers on the platform and is a newly hatched star in Sweden. After her recovery, she has also appeared in programs such as Reneé’s bridge and Carina Bergfeldt’s talk show.

Marko likens himself to a kind of manager for his mother. Now she earns money from her collaborations and can finally shop in the stores that she loves, which is discount stores such as Dollarstore and Rusta. Irma has money she never had before in the bank and can finally give to her children, instead of the other way around.
– I have said that we share the money that we earn from these collaborations, but mom says “there is no need because you have given me so much”. It would be fun if she could have a few hundred thousand in the bank, she never had that, Marko added The evening paper.
