Iran’s ambassador called to the Foreign Ministry about Ahmadreza Djalaralis health

Iran’s ambassador has been “urgent” called to the Foreign Department, following information on detainees and doomed Ahmadreza Djalaralis “severely deteriorated health”.
It announces the Foreign Ministry in a press release.

“When calling up the call, a requirement was made that Ahmadreza Djalali must be immediately released for humanitarian reasons so that he can be reunited with his family. Ahmadreza Djalali must at the same time and immediately be given the care he is obviously in need of, ”the press release states.

TV4 News has been in contact with Ahmadreza Djalal’s wife, Vida Mehrannia, after the Foreign Ministry’s message.

– His lawyer saw him and judged that he will not survive this. He was just leather and legs. His blood pressure and pulse were very low, she says.

UD: condemns the application of the death penalty

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that at the meeting, clear protests were again presented against the death penalty and requirements that it should not be enforced.

“Sweden’s and EU attitudes regarding the death penalty is very clear. We condemn the application of the death penalty and we always oppose it, everywhere and regardless of circumstances, ”writes the Foreign Ministry.

Ahmadreza Djalali was a researcher at the Karolinska Institute for eight years. He was arrested in Iran in 2016, accused of espionage on behalf of Israel, and is sentenced to death. In 2018 he became a Swedish citizen.
