The Iranian state news agency Mizan writes that it is about information that has been “influenced” by Israel and said that they were trying to disrupt the relationship between Iran and Sweden. This should also have been communicated to the Swedish charge d’affaires in Iran during a meeting, according to the Iranian state news agency Irna.
The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that the meeting has taken place but does not want to comment on what was discussed.
“It is true that Sweden’s chargé d’affaires has been summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. We do not go into more detail about what was said during the meeting,” writes the Foreign Ministry’s press service to TV4 Nyheterna.
Säpo: Iran uses Swedish criminals
Earlier this week, information came from the Israeli intelligence service Mossad that Swedish criminal networks acted on behalf of Iran. Säpo confirmed that Swedish criminals were used as proxies by Iran.
Iran denied that it had acted in such a way and said that the statements were made up.
“Swedish media have published false and fabricated statements against the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the brutal Israeli regime’s false and baseless claims,” the Iranian embassy in Sweden wrote in a press release.
Even then, Iran criticized Israel and said that it was all a move to shift the focus from the war in Gaza.
