Pointing to the statements US President Biden used in his speech in the state of California, Iranian President Ibrahim Reisi said, “I learned that the US President made a statement a few hours ago, perhaps because he was distracted. He said, ‘We aim to liberate Iran.’ Iran was liberated 43 years ago. and is determined not to fall into your captivity.” said.
Addressing the protests that started after the death of a young woman in police custody and continued for nearly 50 days in his speech, Reisi described the demonstrators as “some deceived people” or “traitors”.
Holding the USA responsible for the incidents in which a large number of lives were lost, the Chief said, “The enemy has targeted our national unity today. The USA has targeted our security, peace and power today. We must be vigilant and prudent in this regard. Although there were statements from official sources that civilians and security forces died in the events, no clear information was given about the number of deaths.
Norway-based Iranian Human Rights Organization, on the other hand, announced that 253 people died in the demonstrations. In the news reflected in the Iranian media, it is stated that more than 30 security guards have lost their lives during the demonstrations so far.
THEY CLAIM THE USA AND ISRAEL
The Iranian administration considers the events that have been going on for about 50 days as a “conspiracy of forces such as the USA and Israel aiming to break up the country”.
The United States had imposed sanctions on some Iranian security officials regarding the police intervention in the Mahsa Emini demonstrations.
The Washington administration also recently imposed sanctions on Iran for “providing armed drones and technical assistance to Russia for use in Ukraine.”
In response to the US sanctions, Iran also sanctioned 10 American individuals and 4 organizations, including senior civilian and military officials, on November 1, on the grounds of “inciting violence in the country and interfering in internal affairs”.
