“Iran Is After Nuclear Energy Not Nuclear Weapons”

Tension is rising in the region Bidens counterattack

While trying to revive the agreement signed in 2015 to restrict Iran’s nuclear program, Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei made a statement regarding the country’s nuclear program.

Khamenei said that Iran’s use of nuclear energy is related to the country’s independence and said that “Iran’ is aiming to produce nuclear energy, not nuclear weapons.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressed the public on state television. “Sooner or later, we will need a peaceful nuclear energy,” Khamenei said in his speech. “If we don’t pursue it, our independence will suffer,” he said.

Khamenei also stated that Iran has never sought to produce a nuclear weapon, a claim made by Iran’s enemies.

Discussions continue between Iran, the United States and western countries on Iran’s return to the 2015 nuclear agreement. Iran has not fully fulfilled its obligations to the agreement since former US President Donald Trump withdrew the US from the nuclear deal. Iran wants the embargoes imposed on it to be lifted as a priority for the deal.
