Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is said to have announced his attitude to the proposal in a telephone conversation with the EU’s foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.
“Unfortunately, we have witnessed the issuance of a draft of a harsh and unprofessional resolution by the EU Parliament, which is contrary to political rationality and politeness,” the minister is said to have said.
Iran’s powerful military organization has already been labeled a terrorist by the United States, among others.
As justification for the European Parliament’s proposal, it is put forward that the Revolutionary Guard “carries out terrorist actions, participates in the repression of demonstrators in Iran and conveys drones to Russia.”
