The launch of the Simorgh launcher has failed many times in the past.
Iran has announced on Friday that it has conducted a successful test launch as part of a program that the West says is developing Iran’s ballistic missiles.
According to Iran, the test launch was carried out using a Simorgh launch vehicle designed to carry satellites. The launch of the rocket in question has failed several times in the past.
Iran says the launch of the launch vehicle took place at the Imam Khomeini Space Center in the countryside of Semnan province. Independent sources have not yet confirmed the success of the launch.
The United States has previously stated that Iran’s satellite launches violate the country’s UN resolutions, according to which Iran should not take any actions related to nuclear-capable ballistic missiles.
