This time, Apple is on the agenda with a development that closely concerns iPhone owners. As you may recall, Apple released iOS 16.5 to users on May 18. Shortly after the release of iOS 16.5, it seems that action has been taken for iOS 16.4.
STOP SIGNING iOS 16.4.1
According to the news of MacRumors; Apple stopped signing the previous version of iOS, iOS 16.4. Since iOS 16.4.1 is no longer signed, iPhone users are normally prevented from downgrading to this software version.
iOS 16.4.1, released on April 7, was a minor bug fix update that came about two weeks after iOS 16.4 was released. This update brings features like new Emojis, Safari Web Push notifications, Sound Isolation for phone calls to iPhones.
THE DECISION IS NOT A SURPRISE
Actually, this decision did not come as a surprise. Because Apple routinely stops signing older versions of iOS after new versions are released to encourage customers to keep their operating systems up to date, so it’s not unusual for iOS 16.4 to not be signed anymore.
