Apple promised this feature when it released its latest iPhone in September, and it may arrive very soon. The new iOS 18.2 update will bring a highly anticipated new feature.
While the final version ofiOS 18.1 was released on the iPhone 16 last week, Apple is already announcing a new update for the end of 2024. According to the latest rumors, users could benefit from it from the week of December 2.
One of the biggest new features in iOS 18.2 will undoubtedly concern the camera. Indeed, Apple plans to once again improve the camera control button, by incorporating a new feature: focus and exposure lock.
Once activated, it will be possible to capture a photo or video while fixing the focus and exposure settings (as the name suggests). To do this, simply go to the settings of the Camera application and activate the “AE/AF Lock” option.
Operation will be relatively simple: before firmly pressing the button to capture an image, the user must first carry out pre-pressure to fix the focus.
For now, version 18.2 is in beta and is only available to developers. Be careful though: although the update is available for all iPhoneonly iPhone 16 owners will be able to benefit from the camera improvement.
The clock is ticking: only a few weeks left before we can actually get our hands on this new Apple feature.
