The mobile operator Tre was forced to massive write-downs of its existing equipment in 2022. This is shown in the recently approved annual report.
In total, the write-down means a net loss of SEK 1.3 billion, which Telekomnyheterna was the first to tell about. The background is that when PTS, the Post and Telecommunications Board, in October 2020 banned Chinese Huawei from being in Swedish networks, Tre was hit harder than its competitors. This is because, to a greater extent than others, they built their network on Chinese infrastructure. Adjusted for Huawei costs, the net profit amounted to SEK 924 million, writes Tre. In total, turnover rose to SEK 7.7 billion, up from SEK 6.9 billion in 2021. Tre is 40 percent owned by the investment company Investor and 60 percent by Hong Kong-based CK Hutchinson.
