It was decided to open an investigation against Media Markt, Teknosa, Vatan Bilgisayar and Sunny Elektronik to determine whether they violated Article 4 of Law No. 4054.
According to the news in HaberTürk The following is stated in the announcement on the Competition Authority’s website: “By exchanging information about competitive sensitive data of Vatan Bilgisayar Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Teknosa İç ve Dış Ticaret Anonim Şirketi and Media Markt Turkey Ticaret Limited Şirketi. violates Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054. and also to prohibit internet sales and/or to determine resale prices for the resellers of Sunny Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret A. The preliminary investigations on the allegations of violating Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054 by mediating the indirect information exchange between Turkey Ticaret Limited Şirketi have been concluded.”

Discussing the findings made with the information and documents obtained in the preliminary researches at its meeting dated 18.05.2022, the Competition Board found the findings serious and sufficient; In order to determine whether they violated Article 4 of the Law No. 4054; Media Markt Turkey Ticaret Limited Şirketi, Teknosa İç ve Dış Tic. A.Ş., Vatan Bilgisayar San. ve Tic. With Sunny Elektronik San. ve Tic. Inc. about decided to open an investigation. Article 4 of the Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition is as follows:
“Agreements between undertakings, concerted practices and such decisions and actions of associations of undertakings that aim to directly or indirectly prevent, distort or restrict competition in a particular good or service market, or that cause or may cause such an effect, are unlawful and prohibited.”
