Swedish police have completed the first forensic death investigations into the mysterious Northvolt deaths. According to the police, the investigations found no indications that the employees were exposed to any dangerous substance at the workplace. This is reported, for example, in Sweden public broadcasting company SVT.

The causes of the first two deaths are still unclear. In the third case of death, the death seems to have occurred due to natural causes due to illness. According to the police, the investigations have revealed no reason to suspect anyone of a crime.

Four people who worked at the Northvolt battery factory in Skellefteå died earlier this year after their shifts. In the summer, the Swedish police started an investigation into the first three deaths.

Communications Manager at Northvolt Matt Kataja considers the result of police subsidies a relief.

– Today’s announcement is important to everyone at Northvolt. I hope it brings peace to our colleagues and their families, and that the statement puts an end to all rumors and speculations, Kataja tells SVT.
