This Saturday, February 4, French justice indicated that it had opened an investigation for theft and blackmail after a complaint filed at the end of January 2023 by Aya Nakamura, the most listened to French-speaking artist in the world.
It all starts at the end of December 2022. Aya Nakamura’s home, located in the Paris region, is robbed. Money, luxury clothes and various objects are stolen, for a damage that the star estimates at nearly 200,000 euros. Among the stolen objects are two digital tablets, in which appear personal videos, indicates the Sunday newspaper.
Intimate video scenes
A month later, an unknown person contacted the singer by telephone, claiming to be in possession of these images. He describes certain scenes of these videos to him, reports the weekly, and he claims 250,000 euros from him in exchange for his silence and the non-distribution of these recordings on social networks; the artist is indeed very present on the networks, with twenty million followers.
Phone calls
The blackmailer makes several phone calls to Aya Nakamura and he reiterates his threats. She then decides to file a complaint, at the end of January. A preliminary investigation for burglary and blackmail has been opened.
In parallel with these legal adventures, writes AFP, the Franco-Malian artist with a global echo with her hits, including “Djadja” and “Pookie”, released her fourth album on January 27, DNK. His three concerts in Paris in May sold out within hours.
