Chatham Kent police ask for publics help to find missing Merlin

Chatham-Kent police continue to investigate the disappearance of a Merlin man.

Franco Basaneze, 45, was reported missing on Tuesday, March 15, police said.

He was last seen around 10:30 pm Monday, March 14 in the area of ​​Rivard Line in Grande Pointe.

He was driving a gray 2009 Ford Fusion with Ontario license plate CBSZ 696.

The five-foot-three, 160-pound Basaneze has brown eyes and brown hair, police said. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants with boots.

Disturbance call leads to arrest

A 44-year-old Wallaceburg woman was taken into custody after Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance at a King Street residence in Wallaceburg around 8:40 pm Saturday.

Police were called after a local resident located a woman in his garbage.

Police said the accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
