Viksten investigated the relationships between top police officers Linda Staaf and Mats Löfving, as well as the actions of the national police chief.
At the same time as he was investigating the police management, Viksten had assignments for the Armed Forces, whose highest commander – Commander-in-Chief Micael Bydén – has a relationship with one of the police chiefs under investigation.
After the disclosure, the Office of the Chief of the National Police reported the matter to the department for special investigations, but the preliminary investigation is therefore now closed by the prosecutor Marianne Nordström.
“I didn’t find anything that could be criminal in a side mission,” she says to SVT.
Viksten claims that the side quests did not place him in any difficult situation.
