An investigation into misconduct that began last fall when it emerged that a prosecutor was related to a gang criminal is now closed.

The investigation was initiated due to suspicions that the prosecutor handled cases with connections to the relative. According to SVT Nyheter, the relative must be a leading figure within the Foxtrot network.

“The investigation has not been able to show that the people who were involved, in the cases where the prosecutor was the preliminary investigation leader, had a connection to the alleged criminal network in which a relative of the prosecutor is alleged to be or has been one of the leaders,” says chief prosecutor Lars Morand, who was the preliminary investigation leader in a press release.

“In other words, it is not possible to show such circumstances as are required to call into question the trust in the prosecutor’s impartiality in the investigations”.
