Invasive weeds catalysts of forest fires in Hawaii

After the fire that ravaged the Hawaiian island of Maui this summer, several specialists point to the role that invasive weeds may have played in the spread of these fires which caused more than 100 victims. These dry grasses, which spread massively throughout the archipelago but also throughout the American West, favored the appearance and spread of fires. A growing threat that will become increasingly difficult to ignore in the future.
