Intrusion into the Moroccan embassy was political protest

The man entered the embassy with a knife on him. In addition to breaking the window, he scrawled slogans on the walls.

– He is protesting against what he considers to be a lack of human rights, LGBTQ rights and religious freedom, says the man’s lawyer Majeed Alnashi to Alkompis.

He was later arrested inside the embassy on suspicion of aggravated trespass, aggravated damage and causing bodily harm.

The lawyer hopes that the court will take the political motive into account. He says his client regrets the approach but that the man felt it was the only way to draw attention to the issues.
