Viktor Panyushin, who was wanted by Interpol and captured in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in June, will be handed over to his country. With the decision published in the Official Gazette yesterday and taken by the TRNC Council of Ministers, Viktor Panyushin, who has been held in the Central Prison for months, will be declared an “illegal immigrant” and will be “exported” from the country. Panyushin, who is on the wanted list by Interpol, will be sent to Turkey to be extradited to his country, Russia, after the procedures in the TRNC.
The text of the decision of the TRNC Council of Ministers is as follows:
“In the light of the reasons stated in the motion, the Council of Ministers decided that the person named Victor Mihailovich Paniushin (Panyushin), born on September 13, 1958, was accused of ‘establishing a criminal organization’, ‘organising and managing illegal games of chance’, ‘deliberately injuring two or more people by a group of people’, Because he is sought for extradition by the Russian judicial authorities on charges of ‘kidnapping of a person by an organized group’; In accordance with subparagraph (g) of paragraph (1) of Article 6 of Chapter 105 Foreigners and Immigration Law, acts in a way that endangers peace, public order, administrative order or general morality or arouses hostility among the people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and against the state. or that he has secret plans against the authority and power of the state, all findings and facts were evaluated, and it was decided to declare Victor Mikhailovich Paniushin (PANYUSHIN) as a prohibited immigrant.”
HE WAS CAUGHT FOR FAKE PASSPORT CRIME!
Viktor Panyushin, nicknamed “Vitya Pan”, who has a criminal record in Russia for 9 serious crimes, including murder, and is wanted by Interpol, fled from Russia to Ukraine and obtained a Ukrainian passport with a different surname and date of birth. Panyushin, who came to TRNC with a Ukrainian passport in early 2023, stayed in various places in Kyrenia. Last May, he entered the hotel where he stayed in TRNC in 2021 with his Russian passport, this time with his Ukrainian passport. Panyushin, who was noticed by the TRNC police, was detained on the charge of “fake passport” in June.
In his statement to the police, Panyushin said that he was given a passport by Ukraine within the scope of the witness protection program and that some of his identification information was changed so that he could not be recognized.
Additionally, after Panyushin’s capture, Interpol requested the extradition of the defendant.
