Internet shut down in Bangladesh hospital sources report large numbers

According to local media, nearly a hundred people died in clashes between protesters and security forces on Sunday.

In Bangladesh, internet connections have been cut off on Monday after clashes between protesters and security forces that continued over the weekend claimed nearly a hundred victims.

Hospital sources have estimated to news agencies that there are 95 dead and hundreds of injured.

The demonstrations have continued throughout the summer. The driving force has been the students.

Last month, the protesters got one of their demands through, when the Supreme Court partially overturned the quota seat system criticized by the protesters. The system had guaranteed public administration jobs for relatives of veterans of the struggle for independence.

However, this is not enough for the protesters, they demand the prime minister Sheikh Hasina break up.

Protesters have called a new protest march for Monday in the capital Dhaka, defying the curfew.
