Internet Explorer is finished! Microsoft buries its 27-year-old browser

EPN in Eastern Ukraine People are very worried This will

The most unloved web browser will finally bow out. Starting June 15, Internet Explorer will no longer receive security updates.

That’s it ! As Microsoft announced a little over a year ago, Internet Explorer will no longer receive any security updates as of June 15, 2022. First deployed in 1995, with Windows 95, the browser Microsoft Web will no longer be officially supported by the Redmond company.

At least on Windows 10. Because the latest version, Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11), should still be available for some time on some versions of Windows. Windows 8.1, Windows 7 (with Extended Security Updates), Windows Server LTSC, Windows Server 2022, Windows 10 LTSC and Windows 10 IoT LTSC users are entitled to a small reprieve. Windows 11 is not affected by the end of support for Internet Explorer, the web browser not being available on this OS since Microsoft has chosen Edge, based on Chromium, as the default web browser.

In addition, regardless of the versions of Windows, the Internet Explorer mode integrated into Microsoft Edge will remain in place at least until 2029. Developers therefore still have a few years ahead of them to modernize their old applications until that they no longer need Internet Explorer.

IE 11 users soon invited to migrate to Edge

Over the next few months, Microsoft will gradually invite the last recalcitrants still using Internet Explorer (if any still exist), to migrate to Microsoft Edge. However, the Californian company recommends not completely uninstalling Internet Explorer from Windows, otherwise the IE mode offered by Microsoft Edge will not be functional.
