The proportion of international students has increased in Utrecht in recent years. In the current academic year, more than 4,700 are enrolled at the university. The expectation is that the trend of recent years will continue and that there will be more this year, a spokesperson for the UU said. The university says that some 1,900 foreigners have applied to study at the institution.
Not every student who has applied ends up enrolling. It is therefore not yet possible to say how many will actually come to Utrecht.
