Tomorrow, Thursday, the Center Party is expected to elect Muharrem Demirok as the new party leader. But critics within the party believe that his politics are too similar to Annie Lööf’s and that a clearer change is required.
– The center party must start from its own policy and do what we voted for at general meetings. We have to seek support in the Riksdag, and it may be seeking support from all parties to bring out difficult issues, says one of the critics, Magnus Thulin, deputy in the Riksdag and regional councilor Skåne.
Magnus Thulin would have rather seen Helena Lindahl from Västerbotten take over as party leader, who he believes has a clearer focus on substantive politics than questions of values.
