During the pandemic, demand for mountain cabins in Sweden’s ski areas was at a record high. But now the wind seems to have turned.

While the number of holiday homes for sale right now in these areas is the highest in many years, the number of sales of holiday homes in the same areas has decreased by 23 percent compared to last year.

From 5,550 sales between January and September 2021 to 4,265 sales in the same period this year. It could indicate that some cottages are difficult to sell and a sign that the market has begun to slow down, brokers believe.
