The team from Turku, which struggled with scoring at the beginning of the season, played cheerfully in the first half, but clearly fell behind the Vaasa team in the second half.
However, VPS, which was in the league’s top ranks, had to leave the field without a win for the fourth time in a row.
Central defender Luka Kuittinen took Inter into the lead after the 11th minute of the game, and Jean Botue increased the lead with a penalty kick midway through the opening period. The real feat was done by the 16-year-old from the home team who came on as a substitute Djoully Nzokowho sealed the final score after less than a minute on the field.
– A great opening period set the stage for an important win for us. In addition, the successful substitution gave us the energy we needed at the end of the match, rejoiced Inter’s head coach Vesa Vasara.
VPS pilot Jussi Nuorela regretted that the team was not ready to fight for every ball.
– Our goal chances were really few, and when three goals are scored, it is difficult to win the match, Nuorela summed up.
