Inter didn’t deserve to lose

Anxiety, but also pride.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi tried to console his players after Saturday night’s final defeat, which was decided by a solitary City goal in the second half.

— We are sad because defeat is the worst thing in sport. But I have to congratulate my boys, says Inzaghi on the night of Saturday.

“They are very disappointed but they should be very proud of the way they played,” he continues.

There were probably not many outside of Milan who guessed that Inter would play in the Champions League final. The Italian league cannot compete financially with the bastards in the Premier League.

— We were on a par with Manchester City. We are very disappointed. “But as I said yesterday (Friday) I wouldn’t trade any of my players for anyone else and tonight everyone saw why,” Inzaghi added.

Favorites Manchester City took home the club’s first ever Champions League title, after an unparalleled season. Not enough with the CL title, they have also won both the league and the FA Cup.
