Turku Inter beat SJK in the Veikkausliiga and rose to seventh place in the series over VPS, who have played one less match. SJK continues in third place.
Inter beat Seinäjoki football club 3–0 in the Veikkausliiga at their home stadium. The match progressed evenly until the end of the second half, but in the last 20 minutes the home team broke away.
Initially Axel Kouame took the first Veikkausliiga goal of his career to give Inter the lead from the penalty spot in the 75th minute of the game. Iiro Järvinen doubled the lead just over 10 minutes later at the end of a magnificent attack.
The final scores were completed by the midfielder in the first minute of added time Florian Krebs with a great shot. Krebs flicked the ball into the upper right corner with a spectacular twist.
The SJK goalkeeper got scared in the match Roope Paunion injury late in the opening half. Paunio was replaced from the field after he crashed into the post in a save situation. However, further examinations were not needed and Paunio avoided serious injury.
The loss was disappointing for SJK, which is struggling in the championship fight. The team has played more matches than league leader KuPS and is three points behind the Kuopio team. Ilves, which is in second place, has a point more than Seinjoki, and HJK, which is in fourth place, is only one point away from SJK.
Inter is sixth and currently going last in the championship. Seventh-placed VPS is tied with Turku, but has played less games.
