Intel is targeting low-budget PC gamers with its new Battlemage GPUs and XeSS 2 technology.
Intel announced new Battlemage GPUs and the latest version of XeSS, XeSS 2. XeSS 2 will include XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Frame Rendering and Xe Low Latency. Intel also announced the first games to support XeSS 2.
Battlemage GPUs: Arc B580 and Arc B570
Intel will launch the Arc B580 on December 13 and the Arc B570 on January 16. Both GPUs will support PCIe 4.0 x8 interface, DisplayPort 2.1 and the new XeSS 2. Arc B580 will have 12GB GDDR6 memory and 192-bit memory bus with a price tag of $ 249. Arc B570, on the other hand, will have 10GB GDDR6 memory and 160-bit memory bus for a price of $ 219.
Intel claims that the Arc B580 will beat current-generation GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD in both price and performance. The fact that it comes with 12GB GDDR6 memory at this price shows that Intel will deal a significant blow to its competitors.
First Games to Support Intel XeSS 2
Intel has announced that the first games to support XeSS 2 will be Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Robocop: Rogue City, F1 24, Dying Light 2 and more. The XeSS 2 Frame Render feature will not be available on previous Arc GPUs and will be exclusive to Battlemage GPUs only.
Intel’s Battlemage GPUs and XeSS 2 technology are exciting news for budget PC gamers. Hopefully the drivers will be at a better stage this time and there won’t be another “Alchemist” situation. We also hope that PC gamers will support Intel this time and that Battlemage will not be another failure for Intel.
